Captain Dave Butler

Dave was born and raised in the Florida Keys, Marathon to be exact. He grew up fishing with his uncle who was a charter boat captain. He liked fishing offshore when he was young, but over the years he developed a liking for the backcountry. For the past 15 years Dave has been guiding out of Bud n’ Mary’s Marina. He fishes an 18’ Willy Roberts skiff which poles very shallow and is able to fish certain areas where many other 18’ foot boats can’t reach. Dave enjoys fishing for bonefish, tarpon, permit, snook, redfish, and trout. Of all those fish to catch the permit is his favorite. Captain Dave also enjoys seeing children catch fish. He has memories as a kid fishing and remembers how many good times he had out on the water.
