Captain Jack Backus has been guiding out of Bud n' Mary's for 20 years! He is able to accommodate the most hard-core fly fisherman as well as those who just want to catch fish with the kids. Jack has over 4,000 trips under his belt nowadays and putting anglers on fish comes natural to him. You can expect to see everything from bonefish, tarpon, permit, redfish, seatrout, snook, and sharks while spending a day in the backcountry. Most of the fishing takes place in the Everglades National Park, the Florida Bay, and the shallow waters of the Atlantic Ocean. When the weather is calm Jack may also take you out to the 'Patch Reefs' on the Oceanside. Here you can expect to catch Mangrove snapper, Mutton snapper, Spanish mackerel, several types of Grouper, and quite a few other bottom dwellers. Whether you looking for something to eat for dinner or battle a big fish you'd like to release, it's all here. Jack always says 'fishing is supposed to be fun, and that's what I strive for each and every trip!" |
