Cory Nelson is a Florida native with a love for the backcountry and 10 years of experience with inshore and offshore fishing. When he’s not on a charter, you can typically find him enjoying a day out on the water with his daughter Bindi or pursuing one of his numerous adrenaline driven hobbies. Cory is passionate about sight fishing on fly and spin particularly permit, tarpon, and bonefish – but if you’ve got a larger party of up to 4 he can accommodate with this larger boat for other styles of fishing. Cory welcomes anglers of all experience levels and looks forward to making it a great day out on the water!

Captain Cory competes in numerous tournaments including the Islamorada Gold Cup, Jimmy Johnson, Reef cup, and blue/white marlin tournaments in the Bahamas and Cuba.

I looked at most of the websites prior to booking wirh Capt Rick. TOPSHELF; I got there plenty early and had breakfast at their store. Great call, biscuits and gravy large portion and very good!
It was still 30 minutes before our scheduled time to leave so I asked around the bait shop if Ricky was there yet. I was told that he had left to go get bait, usually this is done on the way to the fishing grounds taking up your fish time. I was aready pleased when Capt Ricky showed up and was ready to leave. His boat was outfitted with the latest in gear and electrionics. I really liked his trolling motor, it was tied to the GPS so when we got to site the motor kept us in perfect position for the bait to drift over the reef. I caught too many fish! Grouper types, snapper types LOTS of great eats!
Capt Ricky is a very good Skipper, he knows the waters and follows the tides very well. I am already planning next years trip and plan to book with Capt Rick @ Bud & Mary's.....

Great Captain that made our day Captain Stephen Byrd is absolutely the best. He got us on fish all day and met our challenge, catching tarpon in January, and exceeded. Not only did land tarpon, Captain Stephen got us on 7 other species just to make sure we filled out our day.

Best fishing trip you'll go on for the price!! The captain put us on fish all day and boy did we catch them. We went from 9:30-4:30 and between my grandpa, my girlfriend, and I, we caught 2 five gallon buckets full of all kinds of fish. We caught yellow tail, grunts, porgie, and a bunch of other random fish. I saw a couple guys pull in king mackerel. The crew was very knowledgeable and extremely kind and I couldn't thank them enough. At the end of the day it costed $70 per person and they ask for a %20 percent tip to the mate(Which after they helped out all day I was more than happy to give more than %20) and I gave them another $15 for cleaning my fish which isn't required but after they clean that many fish it's worth every penny. I learned a lot and laughed a lot and caught a lot of fish and the day couldn't have been better
